Outbreaks can be "triggered" by times of stress, excessive sweating, periods when the immune system is overworked and resistance to infections and viruses is low, also at different times of the menstrual cycle when hormone levels are changing or if pregnant. Seasonal fluctuations may occur too, worsening in the Winter months , improving in the Summer sunshine.
Certain bacteria may also bring on an episode of Eczema, staphylococci in particular.
There are many different types of Eczema, all are painful, all are maddeningly itchy and all are prone to infections, bacterial or fungal if not managed properly.

Olive oil also has the capacity to boost the immune system , the high concentrations of polyphenols and antioxidants make short work of unwanted viral, bacterial or fungal infections.
The other major factor is the high content of Vitamin E contained within the oil, its qualities acknowledged for centuries, and used as a balm and soothing topical ointment in Ancient Greek medicine, it is relevant today as a natural, effective, anti-bacterial and moisturising skin lotion. Massaging olive oil on skin affected by Eczema can bring relief and reduction of its painful symptoms.
Olive Oil Remedies.
Using Olive Oil for Eczema - Uses for Olive Oil with Eczema.
Try taking 2 tablespoons per day , either on its own or with meals.
Before using liberally, topically do a small patch test and wait for 24 hours to ensure there is no allergic reaction.
Try one of the following combinations:
Use as a massage or add to warm bath water, or both bathe and then rehydrate with an olive oil based massage.
1. Massage gently warmed olive oil to the affected areas, leave to soak into the skin, do not wash off.
2. Add 2 drops of Chamomile Essential oil to 10ml Olive Oil and massage into the affected area.
3.Add 2 drops of Cedarwood Essential oil to 10ml Olive Oil and massage into the affected area.
4.Add 2 drops of Geranium Essential Oil to 10ml Olive Oil and massage into the affected area.
5.Add 2 drops of Orange Essential Oil to 10ml Olive Oil and massage into the affected area.
4.Add 2 drops of Juniper Essential oil to 10ml Olive Oil and massage into the affected area.
5.Add 2 drops of Oregano Essential oil to 10ml Olive Oil and massage into the affected area.
6.Add 2 drops of Patchouli Essential Oil to 10ml Olive Oil and massage into the affected area.
7.Add 2 drops of Clary Sage Essential Oil to 10ml Olive Oil and massage into the affected area.
8.Add 2 drops of Sandalwood Essential Oil to 10ml Olive Oil and massage into the affected area.
9.Add 2 drops of Rose Essential Oil to 10ml Olive Oil and massage into the affected area.
10.Add 2 drops of Lavender Essential Oil to 10ml Olive Oil and massage into the affected area.
11.Add 2 drops of Calendula Essential Oil to 10ml Olive Oil and massage into the affected area.
